President's Message
Greetings ASHRAE Members:
First, I would like to thank everyone who was able to participate in
the January meeting. This meeting marked the largest so far with a
grand total of 77 in attendance. It was great to see so many people
come together to learn and congregate in the ASHRAE spirit. I also want
to thank Curt Eichelberger for his great presentation on acoustics and
LEED and JCI for generously hosting the event and the tour of their
high tech air lab which was quite impressive.
Our next meeting will be
back at our home base, Appalachian Brewing Company. Please come and
hear Dr. Philip Morey speak to the chapter about his research into mold
problems in buildings and ductwork. Dr. Morey is a member of ASHRAE and
is currently on the Advanced IAQ Design-Best Practices for Design,
Construction, and Commissioning technical committee.
Also, coming up we are
starting the nomination process for next year’s officers, chairs, and
committee people. If you would like to get involved this is your
invitation. If you know somebody that you would like to nominate,
please do. The more volunteers that we have the stronger the chapter
is. If interested please send an e-mail to our nomination committee
chair Bob
Miller
And finally, there are
only a couple more meetings left so please mark your calendars for
Family Night at the Giant Center March 19th, Student Night at ABC April
14th and Carlisle SynTec’s PV Solar installation tour May 12th.
Hope you can make all the
events.
Sincerely,
D. Todd Postlethwait, PE, LEED AP
